Winter Season guidelines and information Dec 1st-march 31st

Wood is always available for The Warming Hut and Clear View. The shelters have wood but will not be resupplied until Spring, some splitting required; there is a maul at each shelter.  Due to fire danger outside fires need prior permission when there is no snow on the ground.  The cost for firewood to have an outdoor fire is $25 for 20-30 pieces.

You must be able to transport yourself and all supplies to your destination wearing skis, hiking shoes, snowshoes or ice cleats as needed . Please note that snowshoes or skis are required if there is snow on the ground to preserve trail conditions. Bare boots leave deep imprints in the snow which can be hazardous.  When there is no or limited snow you might be permitted to drive to the Warming Hut or Clear View (email: alwindblown@gmail.com for permission and a weather report).
