Question: Do I need a reservation?

Answer:  Yes, all renters need a reservation to guarantee accommodations.

Question: Where can I park?

Answer:  Only guests with reservations may park in the large open parking lot across from the former ski lodge by the "Overnight Parking" sign.

Do not park near or around the former lodge as it is now a private residence with private parking for tenants only.

Question: Can I park at Windblown to dayhike the Wapack?

Answer: No, you must park across the street in the designated Wapack Trailhead parking lot for day hiking. Windblown parking is only for guests staying at the shelters or cabins.

Question: I am hiking the Wapack Trail. Can I use the shelters for day use?

Answer:  No, shelters are for the exclusive use of renters.

Question: Can I bring my dog?

Answer:  Yes, except when there is snow on the trails to preserve conditions for skiing. There is an extra charge of $10/night/pet. You are responsible for cleaning up after your dog. Please bring dog waste removal bags. Please note that Windblown is carry in/carry out, there is no trash removal at these sites.

Question: Is there a place to dispose of trash?

Answer:  Windblown is carry in/carry out, there is no trash removal at these sites.  Make sure to pack out your trash, including dog waste. The Warming Hut is the only cabin with a trash receptacle which is only for use by renters of the Warming Hut.

Question: Will there be toilet paper in the outhouses?

Answer:  It is best to carry extra TP in case the outhouses have not been resupplied recently.

Question: Do I need to send a deposit?

Answer:  Yes.  There is a minimum for each shelter/hut which is the deposit. Cancellations or date changes must be made at least five days before the reservation date. If you cancel within five days of your reservation, the deposit will be forfeited.
