Parking
Campers can leave a car overnight in the designated area near the lodge. Park between the yellow signs that say "Overnight Parking". Please note that the lodge is now a private residence and only tenant parking is allowed next to the former lodge.
Water
Potable water is available outside of the lodge to the left of Ski Shop entrance. It is recommended that you pack in all of the water that you will need for your stay at this shelter due to possible giardia concerns, as there is a lot of beaver activity in the pond and streams that are near the shelter.
Directions
There is no one employed at the ski shop to direct you, you must be able to find shelters and huts with the map provided in the Waxing Shed which has routes highlighted. The Windblown map is also available as a PDF download,(please note that the PDF does not have routes highlighted.)
No rescue service is available except for 911
Firewood
Firewood is available at the shelters and huts. There is an additional charge of $25 if you want to have an outdoor fire in the firepit. Because of fire danger you need prior permission for an outdoor fire when there is no snow on the ground.
